A New View of Mexico’s Wildlife

The Sea of Cortez is well-known for its stunning beauty and the exotic marine life that calls these waters home. The best way to experience everything the Sea of Cortez has to offer is from below the waves where colorful tropical fish frolic, manta rays glide through the water, sea turtles meander along, and gentle whale sharks swim round and round with surprising grace.

There are actually hundreds of species of fish and more than 25 species of marine mammals that can be found here, and chances are good you’ll see many of them! If you’re lucky, your private Sea of Cortez adventure will include views of playful dolphins cavorting in addition to all of the creatures you’ll see on the snorkeling adventure you’ll enjoy with the group you’ve chosen to share this special day out with.

The Sea Lions of the Sea of Cortez

What makes this private Sea of Cortez adventure one of a kind are the sea lions*. The rocky Los Islotes islands, located at the northern end of the Espiritu Santos islands, are home to numerous sea lions.

These creatures, now accustomed to the comings and goings of people, spend their time basking in the sun, splashing in the water, and, of course, barking their unique hellos. If you’re lucky, some of these curious mammals will make their way over to the yacht to get a closer look at you (whether you’re on the boat or snorkeling) - and in the process, you’ll have a chance to say hello right back!
