Nothing beats watching your child smile and laugh as they meet and become friends with a dolphin!

Our Los Cabos Dolphin Kids tours are hands-on, small-group encounters that are safe and fun, designed for those in Cabo with kids. Give your young dolphin enthusiasts the experience of being up-close with one of these amazing animals.

One of the best Kids Activities in Cabo

Our experienced specialists are there to guide swimmers and non-swimmers alike as they play with and learn from our family of curious and intelligent Pacific Bottlenose dolphins in our specially-designed shallow water pool.

And you get to enjoy it all from the comfort of our observation area, where you’ll see ear-to-ear smiles and hear giggles of delight as your kids enjoy the experience of a lifetime!

The Safest Dolphin Encounter in Cabo

You’ll be close by during the entire dolphin family tour, but your children will enjoy feelings of independence as they don life jackets and join our trainers in the pool. There, they’ll be greeted by the huge smiles and happy vocalizations of our family of highly-trained Pacific Bottlenoses. While some grownups can find dolphins intimidating, children typically feel comfortable with them right away because they share so many of the same traits: curiosity, playfulness, and a love of all things silly!

Please note that all of our dolphin swim programs, including Dolphin Kids, have a well-established safety record, and our aim is to make you feel as comfortable as possible. That way, you can spend the encounter watching your kids laugh and play with their new flippered friends.

Learning Through Play

There’s no better way to learn about life under the sea than from the animals who call that habitat home! Children who take part in our dolphin family tours do more than just splash around with a dolphin. As they pet and hug a Pacific Bottlenose, they’ll be learning about this animal’s unique anatomy firsthand.

And when they shake a smooth fin or ask for a slippery dolphin kiss, they’ll be learning more about dolphin behavior. The goal of all of our dolphin swim and dolphin encounter programs is to give people who love these animals  - including kids - the chance to learn more and to create a lifelong personal connection.

Knowledge Leads to Caring

Children who have a chance to swim with dolphins tend to care more about them and want to protect them from harm. When your child chooses to go swimming with dolphins, our family of marine specialists works hard to give them a better understanding of why marine research and conservation is important.

The children who meet a dolphin face to face and interact with these fascinating marine mammals are often inspired to do more to keep our oceans, like the Sea of Cortez, clean and healthy. Who knows! Perhaps after your encounter with dolphins in Cabo, your child will decide they want to become a marine specialist!

Please take a look at the Humane Conservation program, in which Cabo Dolphins is certified, to learn more about how we care for our dolphins.

FAQ

Do I need to reserve in advance?
Yes please reserve in advance to ensure availability - especially during the holidays.
May I bring a camera or video camera to take pictures?
Cameras are only allowed in the observation areas they are not allowed into the pools. However we offer professional photos that are available for purchase after your experience.
Can I wear sunscreen (SPF)?
All sunscreen must be biodegradable and applied at least 30 minutes before entering the water for the protection of our animals. Any sunscreen applied after that or sunscreen that is not labelled biodegradable must be washed off before entering the pools. You can buy biodegradable sunscreen in our gift shop.
Can I wear jewelry?
For the safety and well-being of our dolphins the use of jewlery is not permitted. We do provide areas to secure your personal belongings however it is recommended you leave all jewelry and small items in your hotel.
Why do you limit the number of sessions for people to interact with the animals?
Our animals’ health and welfare are of the utmost importance so we limit each session. These incredible animals spend less than two hours each day interacting with the public. The rest of the day is allocated to their private valuable training time as well as for play and social interaction.
How safe are Interactive Programs?
Our programs have a remarkable and well-established safety record. The health and safety records of these kinds of programs have been continuously studied for over 20 years each time reaffirming their impeccable records.
Can I make an animal sick if I participate in a swim program?
No you cannot. Since the beginning of in-water marine mammal interactive programs in 1985 there have not been any instances of disease transmission between humans and these animals reported at any facility.
Can special needs visitors participate in your dolphin programs?
We do our best in trying to provide this experience to everyone although it is not always possible. Before making a reservation please talk to one of our representatives so they can better inform you.
How do you care for your animals?
At our centers we follow a program for preventative health care including daily health assessments regular voluntary veterinary examinations and dietary needs assessments. We continually provide an exceptionally clean and stimulating environment for them to live and thrive in while providing a safe and stable setting for their social community (pods) and family to reproduce and grow.
