Highlights

  • In Cabo, we have dolphin centers in two locations: Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Our facilities offer educational and interactive experiences from genuine professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge in a fun way.
  • Have you always dreamed of swimming alongside friendly Pacific Bottlenose dolphins? Or getting a wet fishy kiss from one of these amazing mammals? Our small-group, half-hour Dolphin Swim Experience is a family-friendly excursion in Cabo that was created to make those dreams come true!

A Dolphin Program for the Whole Family

With this experience, everyone ages 4 and up can hug, play with, and swim with one of our curious, highly-trained, and friendly bottlenose dolphins. Not only are they fascinating; they’re also charming and just as excited to meet you as you are to meet them.

Our crew of marine mammal specialists makes sure that your encounter is safe, fun, and educational—and we put special emphasis on the safety of the dolphins.

What Makes Our Swim Experience Different?

Many dolphin tours are just for strong swimmers, but this unique experience is perfect for the whole family because it offers the comfort of a shallow-water platform, without missing out on one of the most enjoyable dolphin experiences available.

First, you’ll learn all about dolphin anatomy from one of the best teachers around: an energetic and friendly Pacific Bottlenose! You’ll feel its smooth and slippery skin as you give your dolphin a rub down, get to know one another through play, and then rocket across the pool, belly-to-belly, with one of these amazing, friendly dolphins.

Interacting with Dolphins Leaves a Lasting Impression on Your Heart

These lovable creatures are empathetic, sensitive, and very curious. Whether you communicate with hand signals or simply with a look, you will sense their deep intelligence. Rest assured that the safety of the dolphins is our top priority, along with fostering a unique experience that’s fun for you and these amazing marine mammals.

Of course, swimming with dolphins is exciting, too! Dolphins are playful, but they’re also majestic, and as you race across the pool with your dolphin you’ll experience a rush of adrenaline and a new appreciation for the variety of life that thrives in the sea.

Why Small Group Dolphin Excursions are Best

Dolphins enjoy interacting with people as much as we love interacting with them, but to ensure the health and safety of the dolphins and our guests, we limit the size and length of our tours. This ensures not only that our friendly dolphins have plenty of time each day to relax, but also that all of our guests have plenty of time to interact with a dolphin! And because of this commitment, our safety and health records are second to none.

Please take a look at the Humane Conservation program in which Cabo Dolphins is certified, to learn more about how we care for our dolphins.

    FAQ

Do I need to reserve in advance?
Yes please reserve in advance to ensure availability - especially during the holidays.
May I bring a camera or video camera to take pictures?
Cameras are only allowed in the observation areas they are not allowed into the pools. However we offer professional photos that are available for purchase after your experience.
    Can I wear sunscreen (SPF)?
Sunscreen contains harmful chemicals and/or oils that accumulate in the tissues of marine species which can then be transferred to their young. To ensure the safety of our dolphins please refrain from using sunscreen and instead use sun-protective clothing.
    Can I wear jewelry?
For the safety and well-being of our dolphins the use of jewlery is not permitted. We do provide areas to secure your personal belongings however it is recommended you leave all jewelry and small items in your hotel.
Why do you limit the number of sessions for people to interact with the animals?
Our animals’ health and welfare are of the utmost importance so we limit each session. These incredible animals spend less than two hours each day interacting with the public. The rest of the day is allocated to their private valuable training time as well as for play and social interaction.
    How safe are Interactive Programs?
Our programs have a remarkable and well-established safety record. The health and safety records of these kinds of programs have been continuously studied for over 20 years each time reaffirming their impeccable records.
Can I make an animal sick if I participate in a swim program?
No you cannot. Since the beginning of in-water marine mammal interactive programs in 1985 there have not been any instances of disease transmission between humans and these animals reported at any facility.
Can special needs visitors participate in your dolphin programs?
We do our best in trying to provide this experience to everyone although it is not always possible. Before making a reservation please talk to one of our representatives so they can better inform you.
How do you care for your animals?
At our centers we follow a program for preventative health care including daily health assessments regular voluntary veterinary examinations and dietary needs assessments. We continually provide an exceptionally clean and stimulating environment for them to live and thrive in while providing a safe and stable setting for their social community (pods) and family to reproduce and grow.
