America's Cup Match Racing
There are very few things in this world more exhilarating than the rare thrill of racing aboard an America's Cup yacht. At Cabo Adventures, we are proud to be able to offer you the chance to experience the adrenalin-pumping rush of a match race and invite you to become a working crew member on our ultimate sailing adventure.
The Prestige
The America's Cup is the world's oldest and most prestigious yacht race. Once it was the exclusive activity of millionaires and elite professional yacht racers, but now we would like to invite you to join the crew and feel like a superstar!
Our Crew
It's all hands on deck with our Teams New Zealand' NZL81/NZL82 and Australia' AUS29/AUS31 racing yachts as our expert sailing crew shows you the ropes. Don't worry - your sailing tasks will be carefully matched to the level of workout that suits you best, so there's no experience required.
The Race
Whether its tacking and jibing, grinding the winch, trimming the sail or cheering the rest of the team through the excitement, you'll be an integral part of the racing crew. As we glide past Lovers Arch and the beautiful beaches of the Los Cabos coastline, you'll race these spectacular yachts to victory in your own "Cup Regatta".
Celebrate
After we cross the finish line, it's back to dry land for a special victory celebration where you can relive your exploits with your rival team over a drink at the bar. You'll be able to purchase photos of your regatta, racing polos and souvenirs before the opportunity for a bit of land-based sightseeing since our race departure point is just a five-minute walk from Downtown Cabo.
What a blast we had on our Americas Cup cruise. It was so much more exhilarating than I would have expected. Kathy gave a detailed history of the Cup Match---those sneaky Yanks cutting inside the lighthouse at the Isle of Wight, it figures!
I loved the part about when the Queen asked "who was second?" and she was told "there is no second"....great stuff. My 2 kids and I served as back grinders and paid close attention to Capitan Hamish (?spelling). Every time we tacked was an adventure unto itself...I was laughing so much scrambling across the deck.
We saw a bunch of dolphins and enjoyed a really cool pacific breeze as we ran fast with a stiff wind to the northwest.
I can't thank you enough for another experience of a lifetime. Kathy, Ham and the crew were top notch.
I will not forget a second of it....thanks so much.
Robert Burt
